FOREIGN workers are among one of the three high-risk groups the Health Ministry is now targeting, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“From the start, our approach is based on locality and testing high-risk groups such as the tabligh and tahfiz groups.

“But now, we will target foreign workers, especially those in the red zones,” said the director-general of health at his daily press briefing in Putrajaya today.

“We also encourage employers to screen their foreign workers.”

Earlier, he announced that there were 30 new Covid-19 cases detected yesterday, with 21 coming from the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market in Selayang.

All of the 21 cases were foreign workers working at the markets.

From the 180 cases detected from the wholesale market, 107 are foreign workers, with a Myanmar national dying from the disease. – May 5, 2020.
