THE Health Ministry is still investigating the origins of the new construction site Covid-19 cluster, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“The foreign workers stayed together in apartments and we are still investigating where they contracted the virus from,” said the health director-general in Putrajaya today.

“Some had gone to the Sri Petaling mosque for the tabligh event and some worked at the Selayang wholesale market. There were some from Kg Baru, too.

“But, we have no firm connection yet and we are still checking,” Noor Hisham said.

He was replying to a question on where the construction workers at the site in Jalan Ampang had contracted Covid-19, as they had stopped working since March 18 when Malaysia began its movement control order (MCO).

It was reported today that 28 construction workers tested positive for Covid-19.

Construction is among the sectors allowed to resume operations last week by the International Trade and Industry Ministry. – May 3, 2020.
