KELANTAN is holding off on implementing Putrajaya’s conditional movement control order (MCO) that allows most economic sectors to resume operations tomorrow.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yaakob said the matter will be discussed on Thursday and, until a decision is made, the terms of the MCO will remain in force in the state.

“The state government feels that the guidelines on the conditional MCO need to be refined further and adapted for use in Kelantan,” he said in a statement today.

Kelantan is a green zone with no Covid-19 cases.

The state is the latest to reject or defer Putrajaya’s conditions, which begin tomorrow ahead of the MCO’s expiry on May 12.

Kedah, Sabah and Sarawak and Pahang today said they would not follow the relaxation of certain restrictions, while Selangor and Negri Sembilan said they would only allow a certain number of businesses to operate from tomorrow.

Penang said it would implement the conditions in phases. – May 3, 2020.
