Instant end to the nation united effort

JUST two days ago, Malaysia entered phase four of the movement control order (MCO). Some of the essential sectors that applied to resume operations were granted their greenlight to start their business.

On Labour Day, the prime minister made a 30-minute announcement to address the relaxation of the MCO.

It ends the previous tight measures abruptly and present multiples sets of standard operating procedures (SOP) for different industries.

These businesses have another two days to prepare and obey the SOPs to re-open on Monday. We are talking about more than half of the business establishments sweeping all the temperature scanners, hand sanitisers and antibacterial cleaners on the market.

With the number of daily positive cases swaying between 30 and 70, this is definitely not a wise move to permit so many businesses to resume in two days’ time.

Yes, indeed we are losing RM2.4 billion per day with the tightened MCO, but what could matter more than preventing more patients or frontliners putting their life on the line? – May 2, 2020.
