CONTROVERSIAL Umno MPs Mahdzir Khalid and Tajuddin Rahman are tapped to chair Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, FocusM (Focus Malaysia) reported.

The portal, quoting sources, said both men had accepted the offer and an announcement will be made soon.

Padang Terap MP Mahdzir is a witness in the corruption trial of Rosmah Mansor.

He is said to have facilitated demands of former prime minister Najib Razak’s wife for kickbacks from a RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project for rural schools in Sarawak when he was education minister. If the appointment goes through, Mahdzir will replace retired Federal Court judge Zainun Ali.

Zainun was appointed by the Pakatan Harapan government to the post on January 17 last year.

The portal said Mahdzir accepted the MAHB post after rejecting an offer to chair Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

  • If the smart brains from Malay , Chinese and Indian community choose to sit back and allow all these crooks to serve the country, the country will go bust, backwards and regress. Don't blame others bcos u choose to enjoy your lucrative corporate salaries and rewarding businesses.

  • There are so many qualified Malaysians out there for these corporate positions. It is absolutely not necessary to handover all these seat to MPs or politicians just as goodies to support the current government. We are back to pathetic style of handing over goodies. As the PM stated on interview last Friday, "We are tired of politics already"

  • Two doggy politicians helming GLC and what do they brought to the table for this two outfit. Are they able to increase the revenue of the two outfits and they ensure no bailed out ever from public funds. Its transparent to us what would eventually take place. First attend meeting to warm the chair, rubber stamp things and take with them big take home pay and perks. Second, any expansion program must go through them to explore where the potentials benefits are for them and third out source or procure things from friendly parties with a premium. The good old days for them are on the horizon.
