MUSLIMS in Malaysia will begin fasting tomorrow, announced Keeper of the Rulers Seal Syed Danial Syed Ahmad this evening.

He said the date for Ramadan’s start in all states was set following a decree by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah after receiving the Malay rulers’ consent.

The announcement was aired on Radio Televisyen Malaysia.

Syed Danial had said the sighting of the new moon to determine the start of the fasting month was fixed for today.
