Covid-19 red zones stay at 30

THE number of Covid-19 red zones remains at 30, data from the Health Ministry shows.

Green, yellow and orange zones, too, are unchanged at 26,  76 and 16, respectively.

Areas with 40 cases and more are marked red; 20-40 orange; below 20 yellow. Green means infection free.

Yesterday, Malaysia reported a significantly reduced number of infections, at 36, bringing the total to 5,425. The virus has so far killed 89 people.

Minus deaths and recoveries, active infections number 2,041, with 45 patients in intensive care and 28 on ventilators.

Lembah Pantai stays in top spot for having the highest number of cases, keeping its red zone status for the 18th day.

Parliamentary constituencies Lembah Pantai, Seputeh and Bukit Bintang are in the zone.

Official data shows Lembah Pantai has reported 629 infections as of noon yesterday. Of these, 343 are active cases.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has said that red zones will be reclassified after 14 days pass with no new infections. – April 21, 2020.
