THE public can use automated teller machines (ATM) only from 8am to 8pm during the third movement control order (MCO3), said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“There have been reports that people are coming out to withdraw money until midnight and the National Security Council (NSC) has decided to restrict the hours to 8am-8pm,” said the senior minister during his daily MCO briefing in Putrajaya today.

He said the Home Ministry has also decided to extend the deadline for the registration of births and deaths till 90 days after the MCO has ended and waive the penalties for late registration.

“Those who have lost their MyKad and need replacement, should contact the National Registration Departments in their area to get an appointment if they want to process replacements.

“This will only be for emergency cases,” said Ismail Sabri.

Meanwhile, the government has prepared 11 new holding centres for those who are arrested for flouting the MCO.

“We have gazetted the centres and they will be operational from April 23.”

Ismail Sabri said police have arrested 1,111 people yesterday compared to 1,565 on Friday.

“Nine hundred and ninety-sevven were remanded while 114 were released on police bail. The total number of people arrested for breaking the MCO (till April 18) is 14,750.” – April 19, 2020.
