COMPANIES, societies and clubs must postpone their annual general meetings to avoid mass gatherings, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“As June approaches, we are aware many companies and societies need to do their AGMs.

“The National Security Council (NSC) has decided that all companies, clubs and societies should postpone their AGMs to a date to be decided by the Health Ministry,” said the senior minister in his daily press briefing in Putrajaya today.

“This is to prevent any mass gatherings,” he added.

The government, however, will allow companies and societies to carry on with their AGMs if they do it online.

“Those who want to continue can do it via video conferencing.”

Ismail Sabri said work in houses related to internet services, such as installing or repairs, can continue.

“Internet is now a basic necessity, like electricity, and service providers can install systems in houses and such.

“But before they go to the addresses, Telekom, Celcom or whatever internet provider will need to inform the police at roadblocks.” – April 18, 2020.
