Sepang, Kota Samarahan now red zones

TWO more districts have been designated Covid-19 red zones, bringing the total to 23.

Sepang in Selangor was made a red zone after an overnight spike of seven cases pushed its total of Covid-19 infections from 39 to 46.

The other new red zone is Sarawak’s Kota Samarahan, which recorded six more cases since Monday to log a total of 42 Covid-19 infections.

WIth the escalation of the Covid-19 statuses of these two areas from orange to red, there are 17 orange zones left.  

The Health Ministry classifies green zones as districts without any cases, yellow (1-19 cases), orange (20-40) and red (41 and above).

Yesterday, the ministry reported that 170 new Covid-19 infections have been detected, bringing the total of infections in the country to 3,963. The number of deaths has also risen to 63.

Red zones are where 72.4%, or 2,871, of the Covid-19 infections in the country. – April 8, 2020.
