POST-NATAL and paediatric services at government health clinics and will continue as normal despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
Nurses will continue to make house calls on mothers who have just delivered, while clinics will still treat pregnant women who come for consultations.
“Mothers are urged to keep their check-up appointments.
“Likewise, immunisation of babies and children will continue as scheduled. Parents are urged to follow these schedules and appointments,” Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement today.
While hospitals have postponed elective surgeries and diverted resources and manpower to the Covid-19 frontline, he said care for pregnant mothers, new mothers and newborns must continue. – March 26, 2020.
