THE government will provide RM3 million to Tung Shin Hospital and Chinese Maternity Hospital, said Prime Minister Najib Razak.
“This fund will be provided in the near future,” said Najib when visiting the hospital today.
“Because I’m very impressed with what these two hospitals are doing so, I must support them,” he said.
Kapitan Yap Kwan Seng, a contemporary of Kuala Lumpur founder Kapitan Yap Ah Loy, set up Pooi Shin Thong in 1881, which later became Tung Shin Hospital in 1894.
Najib said he was told he was the first prime minister to visit the hospital.
The announcement comes as Barisan Nasional attempts to win back the support of Chinese Malaysians.
