SIME Darby Bhd group CEO Jeffri Salim Davidson has tested positive for Covid-19 and is being treated under quarantine.

In a statement today, the group said Jeffri has not visited any Sime Darby premises in the last 16 days.

“Employees who have been in contact with him in this period are undergoing self-quarantine and medical checks.”

It said it is working with the authorities to ensure staff’s health and safety, including undertaking contact tracing to determine those who were in close contact with Jeffri.

Group chief financial officer Mustamir Mohamad has assumed the responsibilities of the group CEO to ensure business continuity, it said.

Sime Darby premises nationwide have been closed in line with the government’s movement-control order effective yesterday till March 31.

All of the group’s Malaysia-based employees are working remotely. – Bernama, March 19, 2020.
