THE new government might “miss” some criminal cases involving top leaders, such as Najib Razak’s SRC International and 1Malaysia Development Bhd trials, said activist Marina Mahathir at an anti-Muhyiddin Yassin rally in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
She said the new Perikatan Nasional government that has replaced the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration might even acquit fugitive businessman Low Teak Jho from all charges.
However, the activist said if the case is dismissed here, the US Department of Justice will still continue their investigations.
“If we see Jho Low walking again, then we know.
“Whatever it is, if they dismiss it here, that doesn’t stop the US Department of Justice,” she spoke at the rally which had attracted about 200 people.
Former prime minister Najib Razak faces 42 charges of criminal breach of trust, graft, abuse of power and money laundering in five criminal cases over 1MDB.
