TWO foreign nationals with Covid-19 were discharged from hospital yesterday after making a full recovery.
The all-clear given to the Chinese and US women brings the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in Malaysia to 22.
Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement, said the two were Malaysia’s 16th and 22nd cases of the virus, and were treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Sg Buloh Hospital.
He said a local woman who recently travelled to Japan has been confirmed as the country’s latest Covid-19 case, bringing the national tally to 23.
The 53-year-old patient, who returned home on Sunday and showed symptoms of infection the following day, is being treated at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Noor Hisham said lab tests on 66 evacuees from Wuhan, China, who arrived in the country two days ago came back negative.
Nevertheless, they have been placed under a 14-day quarantine at an observation centre, he said.
As of yesterday, 1,570 people had been tested for the virus. Of the total, 23 tested positive, 1,523 (negative) and 23 (results pending). – Bernama, February 28, 2020.
