Agong to meet Malay rulers tomorrow

THE king will meet Malay rulers tomorrow on the country’s political crisis, reports The Star.

The meeting between Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the rulers will be held before Friday prayers.

Sultan Abdullah granted an audience to Dr Mahathir Mohamad this morning, with the interim prime minister leaving Istana Negara at noon.

Over the last two days, the Agong interviewed 220 MPs to ascertain which bloc has the majority in Parliament. He has also met all political party leaders.

These developments followed Dr Mahathir’s resignation as prime minister and Bersatu’s exit from Pakatan Harapan, leading to the pact’s collapse, on Monday. – February 27, 2020.
