Pakatan to discuss Dr Mahathir’s ‘unity govt’ proposal

THE Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council will discuss Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s offer of a “unity government” tonight, a source told The Malaysian Insight.

“Definitely,” said the party leader when asked about the matter today.

He confirmed that interim prime minister Dr Mahathir had proposed to PH leaders to form a unity government by inviting MPs from all political parties.

Reuters reported today that Dr Mahathir had made the suggestion after meeting various leaders today.

Among the leaders he met were Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Abang Johari Openg, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.

He had also met former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal. – February 25, 2020.
