THE police will question former chief graft buster Dzulkifli Ahmad today over nine audio recordings that appeared to show attempts to manipulate and cover up information related to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Bukit Aman CID prosecution and legal division assistant director DCP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the matter when contacted.

“God willing yes,” he said briefly when asked this morning.

Meanwhile, a source told The Malaysian Insight that Dzulkifli is expected to arrive in Bukit Aman at about 10am, accompanied by his lawyer.

On Friday, former prime minister Najib Razak and wife Rosmah Mansor spent about an hour at Bukit Aman over the same issue.

They were questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the same day.

The police previously said 14 witnesses had been called up to facilitate the probe into what was described by the MACC as the highest criminal conspiracy.

The police had recorded statements from Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, Najib’s former private secretary Shukry Mohd Salleh and former special officer Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin.

On January 8, the MACC disclosed audio recordings of individuals leaking information from the Attorney-General’s Chambers to Najib, when he was the prime minister, as well as conversations into the probe between 1MDB and SRC International Sdn Bhd.

Dzulkifli was a former officer at the Attorney-General’s Chambers when the alleged conversation took place before he was promoted as to head the MACC. – February 24, 2020.

  • What took them so long? He wasn't attending any cases, nor any of the other reasons that the PDRM trotted out in the past to justify their delay.
    Selective prosecution of their duties?
