ANWAR Ibrahim has confirmed speculation that Bersatu and a PKR faction have betrayed the Pakatan Harapan pact and is set on toppling it.

However, the PKR president said he had no details about the formation of a new government after six top party leaders met the king this evening.

“We are now waiting for more details but there are efforts to topple the Pakatan Harapan government by our former friends in Bersatu and a section from PKR.

“They met with the Agong this evening but there are still no details on this,” he said at his residence tonight.

Six leaders had gone to the palace for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong earlier today.

They were Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi,  Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Warisan president and Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal and PBB president and Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg were also present.

The PKR leader is due for an audience with the Agong tomorrow.

His political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, said tomorrow’s audience with the king is a scheduled meeting to provide normal briefings.

“No, just normal updates. Like I mentioned, it was scheduled a while ago,” Farhash told The Malay Mail tonight. – February 23, 2020.

  • This makes me sick to my stomach. The people did not vote for UMNO or PAS. Any coalition formed will have to go through an election.

    • chances are the seats would largely remain the same because the only swinging votes were between PPBM/PKR and PAS/UMNO.
