SEVERAL Opposition MPs are at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya where speculation is rife that a possible announcement on a new government will be made.
Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Ismail Sabri Yakob and Annuar Musa were the three Umno MPs seen at the hotel.
They were spotted entering a holding room occupied by PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.
“I am here to drink coffee,” Tengku Adnan told reporters when asked on the possible shake-up and the formation of a new government.
Minutes later Ismail Sabri, who is Umno vice-president, was also seen at the hotel where the PKR faction aligned to deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali is currently holding a meeting.
“There is nothing to comment yet. (We) don’t know anything yet,” he said.
Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa told The Malaysian Insight that he had just come for leisure. He was accompanied by PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, who refused to comment.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man is also at the hotel.
Meanwhile, Azmin was seen exiting a ballroom at the hotel. He briefly entered another ballroom opposite and was seen exiting with PAS leader Abdul Hadi Awang, minutes later.
However, he did not entertain any questions from the press.
Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin was seen arriving at the hotel at 8.35pm. – February 23, 2020.
