EXISTING public parks with a variety of features and concepts in Putrajaya are adding value to the federal administrative capital as an ecotourism destination, said Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad.

He said with organised promotional programmes, Putrajaya could be featured as among main ecotourism destinations in the country, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020.

“The variety of flora and fauna here, cultivated under the city in the garden concept, should be highlighted to attract tourists to Putrajaya.

“Putrajaya is already known as a venue for international events, such as the Royal Floria Putrajaya and international water sports activities,” he said when opening Putrajaya Parks Day at Taman Wawasan today.

Putrajaya Parks Day is an initiative by Putrajaya Corporation to encourage members of the public to utilise the facilities provided at the public parks. – Bernama, February 23, 2020.
