RELIGIOUS affairs minister Mujahid Yusof Rawa believes the death threat he received is due to the spread of false news on the sale of Lembaga Tabung Haji assets.
“Some people cannot control how they feel. They are fed with lies and slander on the sale of assets belonging to Muslims.
“They are also angry with allegations that Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng controls Tabung Haji.
“Certain parties use this to cause anger. That is what happened when lies and racially tinged sentiments are being spread on Facebook,” Mujahid said in Penang today.
The minister was commenting on a threat he received from a social media user who had allegedly posted: “Let’s just kill Mujahid”.
Several police reports have been lodged by Amanah members as well as civil society groups.
