THE Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretariat council meeting this afternoon did not discuss the transition of power from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, PKR’s Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul said.

The subject will only be raised at the PH presidential council meeting, which Dr Mahathir Mohamad is chairing now in Putrajaya, Johari added.

He said the PH presidential council’s decision tonight will be a very important moment for the ruling coalition.

“I trust the experience of our leaders. They have faced all sorts of challenges and have overcome them.

“So I trust that our leadership will know how to handle it,” Johari told the media after the secretariat council meeting at Wisma Putra this evening.

Besides the secretariat council’s members, who are the secretaries-general of PH parties, today’s meeting was also attended by representatives from each state.

Amanah secretary-general Mohd Hatta Md Ramli said the PH secretariat council meeting today only discussed operational matters for the coalition, including at state level.

“No big agenda except on improving PH’s structure at state level.

“We have these meetings at least four times a year to hear views from the states, their problems and what can be done,” said Hatta, who chaired today’s meeting. – February 21, 2020.
