ALL 107 Malaysians evacuated from Wuhan, China, in a humanitarian and disaster relief mission earlier this month have been allowed to go home, said Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad today.

The health minister said they include two people who were warded at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

“Repeated Covid-19 tests came back negative, and they have been allowed to go home after they’ve completed health monitoring at the Higher Education Leadership Academy,” he told a daily press briefing in Putrajaya.

The Malaysians were evacuated from Wuhan, the virus epicentre, on a special AirAsia flight, in a mission mounted by the government.

Dr Dzulkefly said no new cases were reported in Malaysia today.

Meanwhile, Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a Facebook post, said two Covid-19 cases – a husband-and-wife pair from China – were discharged from Permai Hospital in Johor Baru this afternoon after making a full recovery.

This brings the total number of patients who have been discharged to 13, of the 22 confirmed cases in the country.

In China, the virus has killed almost 1,900 people and infected some 72,000. – February 18, 2020.
