FORMER Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) chief executive officer C.M. Vignaesvaran has not been cleared of all investigations against him, said MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki.

There are still cases open against Vignaesvaran for alleged abuse of power and corrupt practices, Azam told The Malaysian Insight.

“We have cleared him in one case only. Several investigations were opened against him.”

When asked which case was cleared, Azam said: “I need to check with the public prosecutor on which case that has been dropped.”

It is learnt that MACC notified Vignaesvaran that one case against him has been classified as “no further action” in a letter dated February 5.

HRDF was in the spotlight in 2018 over claims of alleged misappropriation of RM300 million.

Human Resources Minister M. Kula Segaran said in November 2018 HRDF funds were diverted to purchase properties and pay salaries and bonuses of a select few.

In some cases, he said, this was done without the knowledge of the board of directors.

Several trainers and certain HRDF management personnel also abused the fund under the guise of training, said Kula.

Vignaesvaran resigned from HDRF in June 2018.

The former CEO was yesterday quoted in Malaysiakini as saying that he was glad the MACC had cleared him of any wrongdoing.

“I am happy that after almost two years of agony, this has come to an end,” Vignaesvaran was quoted as saying.

“I just want to move on with life and hope to be appointed to some position,” he added. – February 12, 2020.
