Malaysia records 16th coronavirus case

MALAYSIA recorded its 16th coronavirus case after a 60-year-old woman from China tested positive for the virus, said Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The woman had travelled to Malaysia on January 25 with a 35-year-old woman who had already tested positive for the virus on February 5.

“This woman travelled to Malaysia on January 25. She came with her daughter and husband, along with another woman who had tested positive.

“She tested positive on February 7 and was warded in an isolation ward at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” Dr Wan Azizah said.

On Thursday, Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad had said the 35-year-old woman arrived in Kuala Lumpur on January 25 with her mother and three friends.

They had visited several spots in the city before falling ill on February 1. – February 8, 2020.
