BERSATU youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and his parents were forced to flee a gathering after a large group surrounded their table and heckled them.

He said some 200 people gate crashed the event at a restaurant in Ulu Tiram, Johor Baru last night, attended by members from the youth and women wing, and divisions as well as their families.

“Gangsters and disrespectful. They stood surrounding our dining area, disturbing all other guests in attendance. They yelled and shouted all manner of coarse words. My parents were also witnesses last night,” the youth and sports minster said in a Facebook post this morning.

“What is this? There were small children, women at the function…Worse, they demanded the minister (himself) apologise to TMJ, if I were to leave. What happened? I do not know,” he wrote.

Though he did not say who he was referring to, TMJ is the moniker for the Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Syed Saddiq has had a run in with Tunku Ismail in the past.

Youth chief and Malacca exco member Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen and Puteri Wangsa assemblyman Mazlan Bujang who attended the event left the event.

They had to climb over a fence to escape the group that demanded Syed Saddiq leave the state. – February 1, 2020.
