Water cuts in 280 areas in Klang Valley


NEARLY 280 areas in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya are facing water cuts after a main pipe brokeurst at the ELC International School, West Sierramas in Jalan Sg Buloh. 

The interruption will last 48 hours, Syabas said in statement today. The valves for the line-pipe distribution system of SSP1 and SSP2 at the Matang Pagar pond will be shut down to enable repairs to be carried out.

The repair work is estimated to be completed in the next 48 hours and supply to the affected areas will be restored within three days after repairs are completed.

Syabas said it has activated the emergency response plan (ERP) to deal with the situation. 

Tankers will be sent to the affected areas and priority will be given to critical users, such as hospitals and others.

Among the affected areas are Sg Buloh, Petaling Jaya, Damansara, Glenmarie, Jalan Klang Lama, Pantai Dalam, Bukit Kiara, along Jalan Syed Putra, Jalan Pantai, Bangsar, Sg Besi, KL Sentral and Brickfields.
