Public airing of Najib audios discredits Pakatan, MACC, says opposition

Umno and its allies say the release of audio recordings by the MACC involving former prime minister Najib Razak and those close to him have damaged the government and the graft-buster's credibility. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Kamal Ariffin, January 10, 2020.

THE release of audio recordings of Najib Razak’s telephone conversations has increased public sympathy for the former prime minister, said Umno leaders, adding that this will backfire on the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

Umno allies in Barisan Nasional and PAS, meanwhile, said the press conference by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Wednesday, where the clips were released, will not affect support towards their muafakat nasional political pact.

  • I am for anything that unearths/reveals a criminal or a criminal act.. Crime has become an easy source of wealth and position. Well done MACC.

  • What the difference not reveal during BN rules?. Corruption and scandals still rampant worse still cover up or bury right in front rakyat faces. Better reveal and confront the crime openly and judgment will be at the GE. Courts are taking too long and before judgement government may change to BN again there goes anoth burials again
