A CABINET reshuffle has never been discussed with the prime minister, said Lim Guan Eng today.

The finance minister said he meets Dr Mahathir Mohamad regularly, but they have never talked about a cabinet shake-up.

“Nothing at all. I always meet the PM, but this issue (cabinet reshuffle) does not arise.

“We talk about Finance Ministry work and national issues, but whatever we discuss, let that be kept confidential,” he told reporters in Penang.

The DAP secretary-general was asked if he has held talks with Dr Mahathir on possible changes to the cabinet line-up, especially with regard to ministers from his party.

On Thursday, Maszlee Malik announced his resignation as education minister, effective yesterday.

Dr Mahathir has said he will make known Maszlee’s replacement soon.

It is speculated that the prime minister will make other tweaks as well.

Dr Mahathir previously said he would reshuffle the cabinet towards the end of the year. – January 4, 2020.
