What's the decision on 1MDB probe, asks Puchong MP

THE government should decide on the probe into 1MDB, which started two years ago, said an opposition lawmaker.

“How long more must we wait? The investigation paper goes back and forth between the attorney-general and police and so many times,” said Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong-DAP).

“Last I heard, a minister said (the) A-G has directed police to investigate further. Prior to that, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the case solved. The government must let us know what is happening. This is serious,” he said.

Gobind also raised what Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd investigation.

Zahid in a parliamentary reply last week said Malaysia has enlisted the help of Interpol to track down financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, and four others in assist the probe into the 1MDB scandal.

Gobind said: “We have to arrest and question the person. Whether or not we have enough evidence to press charges, that’s a different matter. But we did not even arrest and record the person’s statement.” – October 31, 2017.
