ALL PKR members must cease public comments calling for action against one another and channel their views through the party’s disciplinary board instead, president Anwar Ibrahim has said.
“Raise your views and complaints through the proper channels, such as the disciplinary board.
“Stop all comments about the party’s internal fighting immediately,” Anwar said in a statement today.
He said PKR had been given the mandate by voters to carry out reforms, fight corruption and abuse of power, and take care of the people’s welfare.
“The people have placed their trust in us and they are clearly fed up with statements on the political chess game.
“We are mandated to improve and work for the people.”
His statement comes amid calls for action to be taken against supporters of deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
The economic affairs minister and followers delivered scathing speeches at a dinner organised by his camp on Sunday night at the Renaissance Hotel.
Among them were PKR vice president Zuraida Kamaruddin, who revealed details of her private conversation with Anwar regarding Azmin.
Two days ago, PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin called for Zuraida to be punished for breaching confidentiality with Anwar and also for attacking fellow PKR colleagues.
Shamsul Iskandar said he would be referring Zuraida, who is housing and local government minister, to the party’s disciplinary committee.
The PKR veterans’ group, Otai Reformis, has also called for Zuraida to be removed from her position, urging the party to pressure Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad into replacing her in the cabinet. – December 12, 2019.
