MUHAMMED Yusoff Rawther was questioned by police two and a half hours this afternoon about his allegation of sexual misconduct by PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim, said Yusoff’s lawyer Mohamed Haniff Kathri Abdulla.
In a statement, Haniff said his 26-year-old client co-operated fully, even though he was questioned for eight hours yesterday.
“His statement today was taken from 12.30pm and ended at 3pm, then Yusoff left Bukit Aman.
“If required, Yusoff will do so again and give further statements from time to time as requested by the police to ensure a complete and thorough investigation is carried out on his report,” said Haniff.
Previously, Haniff told The Malaysian Insight Yusoff went back to Bukit Aman to answer more questions on his report.
“Yes, he was called up today. Not a new session but just to complete some follow-up questions. Nothing more than that.”
“He went alone because I had a prior arrangement. He will update me once it is done,” Haniff told The Malaysian Insight.
Earlier, Bukit Aman CID principal assistant director Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the police wanted to speak to Yusoff again.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a person.
In a statutory declaration at Sentul police station on Saturday, Yusoff alleged Anwar tried to force him to perform oral sex at Anwar’s home in Bukit Segambut on October 2 last year.
Meanwhile, Haniff said he had not received any notice of demand from Anwar’s lawyer, Ramkarpal Singh.
“He can send it by getting in touch with my firm,” said Haniff.
Previously, Ramkarpal said that a letter of demand submitted to Yusoff at his address in Penang was returned because he was no longer living there.
“We cannot serve the letter because he is not staying at his address any more.
“We do not have any other information about him and we are currently checking with our sources about his whereabouts,” said Ramkarpal. – December 10, 2019.
