MOHAMMED Yusoff Rawther is back in Bukit Aman to answer more questions on his report alleging sexual misconduct by Anwar Ibrahim, said the accuser’s lawyer, Mohamed Haniff Kathri Abdulla.

Haniff said Yusoff went on his own to the police headquarters for another bout of grilling following yesterday’s session that lasted eight hours.

“Yes, he was called up today. Not a new session but just to complete some follow-up questions. Nothing more than that.”

“He went alone because I had some prior arrangement. He will update me once it is done,” Haniff told The Malaysian Insight.

According to The Star, Yusoff arrived at the police headquarters around noon.

Earlier, Bukit Aman CID D5 principal assistant director Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the cops were calling in Yusoff again with regard to his allegation that he was sexually assaulted by PKR president Anwar.

Last night, Yusoff, accompanied by Haniff, spent eight hours in Bukit Aman giving his statement.

Haniff said police were investigating the case under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a person.

“For now, they are investigating under Section 354. But they may include other charges later if necessary,” he told reporters last night after his client’s long interview with police.

Haniff said his client was asked for details on what had occurred on the day of the alleged sexual assault.

Yusoff had accused Anwar of sexual misconduct in a report made on Saturday at the Sentul police station.

He alleged in a statutory declaration that Anwar tried to force him to perform oral sex at the latter’s home in Bukit Segambut on October 2 last year.

The statutory declaration has been widely shared on the internet. Yusoff has also held a press conference on the matter.

Yusoff’s great uncle, Mohideen Abdul Kader said the family did not know about his allegations against Anwar.

Mohideen is the brother of the the late SM Mohamed Idris, who was Yusoff’s grandfather.

Mohideen said Yusoff has been estranged from the family since his activist grandfather died early this year.

Yusoff’s father, however, said the family was aware of what had transpired.

Anwar has dismissed the allegation, saying he was at an event to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi on the day of the alleged incident and was also busy campaigning in the Port Dickson by-election.

Anwar gave Yusoff 24 hours to back up his accusation or face legal action. – December 10, 2019.
