PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali has not attended the party’s central leadership council (MPP) meetings, said secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Saifuddin said if Azmin had been attending he would know that before the general election last year, the MPP decided to propose Anwar as prime minister and that was discussed at the Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council meeting.
“Among those who frequently joined the MPP meeting are then president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Tian Chua, Saifuddin Abdullah, Nurul Izzah Anwar, Rafizi Ramli and Xavier Jeyakumar.
“But I will name the one who did not attend the MPP meetings,” said Saifuddin during the closing of the 14th PKR congress today in Malacca.
He said Azmin also did not attend the seat negotiation talks with PH component parties.
“Not one meeting.
“But there is one thing I agree with Tian Chua. There’s no need to debate whether Anwar will be the next prime minister.”
He said DAP and Amanah have given their support to Anwar and have no doubt the transition deal will be honoured.
“Anwar, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the presidential council has already agreed that Anwar will be the next PM.
“So, I told Tian Chua, I feel slighted that there are some leaders within PKR who refuse to state their support for Anwar. Not one word from them,” said Saifuddin. – December 8, 2019.
