MUHAMMED Yusoff Rawther, who recently accused PKR president Anwar Ibrahim of sexual misconduct, has surfaced days after to lodge a police report over the alleged incident that took place more than a year ago.

Yusoff, 26, lodged a report at the Sentul police station at 11.34am today.

In a copy of the report made available to The Malaysian Insight, he said he wanted police to investigate the incident involving Anwar as detailed in his statutory declaration dated November 19.

“My purpose of lodging this report is to ask the police to investigate and take action into the incident at the residence of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Bukit Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, as detailed in the statutory declaration.

“I also lodged this report for my safety as I have started to receive threats from certain quarters after my press conference on the matter.”

Sentul police confirmed to The Malaysian Insight that the report was lodged by Yusoff.

The matter will be transferred to the criminal investigation department at Bukit Aman.

In the report, Yusoff said he is current unemployed.

He was a former researcher, who worked in Anwar’s office from September 2018 to May.

He has alleged in a statutory declaration that Anwar tried to force him to perform sexual acts at his home in Bukit Segambut on October 2 last year.

The statutory declaration was widely shared on social media and chat groups on December 4, the same time Yusoff held a press conference on the matter.

Since then, he could not be reached by the media.

Anwar’s lawyer, Ramkarpal Singh told The Malaysian Insight that a letter of demand sent to Yusoff’s address in Penang was returned as he no longer lived there.

Anwar has denied the allegation and demanded that Yusoff clarify his claims within 24 hours or face legal action.

In his report today, Yusoff gave an address on Lebuhraya Rose in Penang island.

In denying Yusoff’s accusation, Anwar said he had been at an event to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi on the day of the alleged incident, and busy campaigning in the Port Dickson by-election.

Yusoff, grandson of the former Consumers’ Association of Penang president SM Mohamed Idris, also had a fallout with Anwar’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

Farhash had accused Yusoff of seeking revenge against Anwar with the claims of sexual misconduct. – December 7, 2019.
