UMNO has already begun preparing a blueprint to challenge Pakatan Harapan in the 15th general election, said Annuar Musa.

The Umno secretary-general said all state chapters and divisions were involved.

“This blueprint will form the basis of a national plan of action that will be carried out with our partners from PAS.

“This blueprint will ensure PH loses and take Muafakat Nasional to Putrajaya,” he said at Umno’s General Assembly 2019 at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

A total of 2,695 representatives from all Umno divisions nationwide are attending the three-day event.

Annuar said to enhance Muafakat Nasional, Umno and PAS will establish a permanent secretariat at PWTC’s Datuk Onn Tower, which will be chaired by both PAS and Umno’s secretaries-general.

He said this was aimed at implementing an effective and aggressive technical decision-making steering committee for GE15.

Annuar added that before the 14th general election, there were 3.6 million Umno members, but due to their loss, many had betrayed the party.

He said that from December 2018 to February 15 this year, Umno had conducted a census on their membership.

“After this process, it was found that only 2% of Umno members turned to another party and 4% had died.

“We also purged the names of those who have left from the membership list.

“Nonetheless, Umno remains strong.”

He said that to date, the party has 3,292,667 members.

“The president (Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) gave the green light to open the door to online applications and in three months, Umno received 11,363 applications.

“To date, we have receivved 28,000 new members and we are still growing from month to month.” – December 6, 2019.
