Don’t let racial issues fester, Wan Azizah tells Malaysians

RACIAL issues should not be allowed to fester and become a cancer weakening unity among Malaysians, said Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The deputy prime minister said there must be equality to ensure prosperity is shared.

“With the shared prosperity concept, we want to ensure that no one is left behind in the country’s development.

“We can live together… there is no need to mention you are Malay, Chinese or Indian, as we are all Malaysians. This is important and must be continued… this is our future together, ” said the Pandan MP at the constituency’s Deepavali open house yesterday.

She said economic gaps between the races should be plugged immediately, and that the people must practise tolerance, accept cultural and religious differences, and prioritise unity at all times. – Bernama, December 1, 2019.

  • We can live together? Sure. But its not us who are creating racial issues, but the politicians. Its not the rakyat who used the words, orang asing, or created a furore over the khat issue.

    I guess the biggest lesson rakyat learned post GE 14, is that you cannot leave governance to a bunch of self- serving politicians, be it from PH or BN.
