JOHOR today announced a special payment of one month’s salary, or a minimum of RM2,000, for 13,400 civil servants in the state.

Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal said the assistance, involving a RM34.78 million allocation, will be paid twice – before year-end, and before the Aidilfitri celebration next year.

“I want to make it clear that the development in Johor would not have been as successful without the commitment, dedication and sacrifice of the state’s civil servants.

“Hence, in appreciation of civil servants, the Johor government has agreed to provide special financial assistance,” he said when tabling Johor’s 2020 budget in the state assembly in Kota Iskandar today.

Sahruddin said the special aid will also be extended to, among others, members of the Johor Council of the Royal Court, Quran and Fardu Ain (Kafa) teachers, community-based rehabilitation centre personnel and state Islamic kindergarten teachers.

He said 2,090 Kafa teachers will receive a full allowance of RM1,412 a month beginning next January, with RM1.67 million allocated for the purpose.

As part of the initiative to strengthen the family institution, the state government, through the Darul Takzim Family Development Foundation (YPKDT), has allocated RM800,000 to refurbish the nursery at the government quarters building in Jalan Tajul, Kota Tinggi, and the YPKDT nursery at Wisma Persekutuan in Johor Baru. – Bernama, November 21, 2019.
