DR MAHATHIR Mohamad today denied having planned or ordered Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali to meet 30 Barisan Nasional MPs on Monday.
“Maybe, I’m a dictator but I didn’t dictate this time,” said the prime minister.
The Star, quoting anonymous sources, said Dr Mahathir had instructed Azmin to handle all the requests from the opposition MPs, but Dr Mahathir said he had not spoken to Azmin about the meeting.
“I haven’t talked to him and I don’t know why he had the meeting, but it involved other parties as well.
“This is a PKR problem and they have to investigate this matter,” said Dr Mahathir, adding that speeding up his transition from power in favour of Anwar Ibrahim following the Tanjung Piai defeat was “up to the party and they can sack me if they want to”.
