THE meeting between a number of PKR MPs and Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali was to discuss national economic policy and nothing more, said Maria Chin Abdullah.

The Petaling Jaya MP said they were having the usual discussion on economic policy and it was not related to party politics.

“Of course, it is political, but it is not about the party,” she said, adding that it was a closed-door gathering, so she could not name those who attended or recall the duration of the meeting.

However, she said the discussion was about the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 policy and some questions she raised in Parliament, this morning.

After courting much controversy over a meeting held at his official residence in Putrajaya last night with several opposition lawmakers, Azmin added fuel to the fire with another meeting today, but this time with members of his own party.

The Gombak MP entered the parliament building at around 2.40pm, making his way to the chamber.

At 3pm, Azmin was seen in the temporary parliament building, with reporters spotting several PKR MPs also entering.

Aside from Maria, Edmund Santhara (Segamat), Mansor Othman (Nibong Tebal), Willie Mongin (Puncak Borneo) and Mohd Rashid Hasnon (Batu Pahat) were also present.

Meanwhile, Azmin said there is always something to say about his meetings.

“When I meet the Umno MPs you’re angry. When I meet PKR MPs, you’re angry.

“I don’t know who I can meet,” he told reporters. – November 19, 2019.
