ANWAR Ibrahim said he is in the dark over a purported meeting between Mohamed Azmin Ali with PKR MPs in Parliament today.

Speaking briefly to reporters in Sepang, the PKR president said he was not invited to the event by his estranged deputy.

“I don’t know. I was not invited,” said Anwar before leaving the 2019 Southeast Asia Ulama Multaqa convention.

The PKR deputy president is currently meeting with his fellow PKR lawmakers.

Azmin earlier today confirmed the meeting with PKR lawmakers but also dismissed a meeting with BN lawmakers last night as normal.

The meeting is the second the PKR deputy president is having with lawmakers but he did not let on what the meeting was about.

Earlier today, the economic affairs minister denied the meeting last night was called to keep Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in office after Pakatan Harapan (PH) suffered a crushing defeat in the Tg Piai by-election last Saturday.

Azmin said he meets people from all walks of life daily as a minister and there is no reason to speculate about the meeting he held last night with the MPs.

“It was just a normal meeting and we did nothing extraordinary,” he told reporters in the parliament lobby today.

“Every day I have meetings. I have lots of meetings. There are different people… different groups.

“Anyone who wants to meet me, I will meet. I meet the people, the business community, MPs from PH and non-PH, because it is important that as a government that cares for the people, we want to get their feedback on government policies.

“This is nothing extraordinary that should be stirred up,” he said. – November 19, 2019.
