PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged Tanjung Piai voters to choose Pakatan Harapan, because only the government can fulfil all the promises made.

He hoped the people will realise that if PH wins, it can fulfil promises because it is the government at state and federal level.

“If Barisan Nasional (BN) wins through MCA, it cannot do anything because it is not the government.

“We hope that the voters will realise this and give their votes to PH,” he said during the PH presidential meeting in Putrajaya tonight.

The by-election on November 16 in the constituency of 52,896 people will be a six-cornered contest involving Karmaine Sardini (PH-Bersatu), Wee Jeck Seng (BN-MCA), Wendy Subramaniam (Gerakan), Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz (Barisan Jemaah Islamiah, or Berjasa) and two independent candidates: tuition centre founder Dr Ang Chuan Lock and businesswoman Faridah Aryani Abdul Ghaffar.

Early voting will take place on November 12 and polling on November 16.

Dr Mahathir said that the leadership has discussed the by-election and what PH needs to do.

“We have the chance to win and must work hard.

“I will also be going down to help campaign.”

The seat was left vacant following the death of Dr Md Farid Md Rafik. – November 5, 2019.
