MAINTAINING national unity is not solely the federal government’s responsibility, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department P. Waytha Moorthy.

He said to ensure stability in the country, it is important to inculcate a sense of togetherness at the grassroots level.

“Malaysia is a country with various races, cultures, religions, languages and customs that have been passed down through the ages.

“This diversity is unique and should be celebrated, and something that we should be proud of. We must prove that it is this diversity that has made Malaysia a country that serves as an example to the international community,” he said at a meet-and-greet session at the Tapah Arena tonight.

Present was Perak Health, Consumer Affairs, National Integration and Human Resources Committee chairman A. Sivanesan.

Waytha Moorthy, who is in charge of national unity, said the government is committed to addressing the grassroots’ concerns, as it recognises that a solid foundation is key to sustainability and continuous development.

Putrajaya has implement policies with a focus on resolving the people’s problems, as well as set the foundation for the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030, he added. – Bernama, November 3, 2019.
