NO decision has been made on Salleh Said Keruak’s bid to join PKR, reiterated party president Anwar Ibrahim.

“Not yet… This is an ongoing process. We will hear all sides’ views.

“If Sabah PKR agrees, they will let us know the decision. We have to meet first. We have not yet decided,” he told reporters after an event in Gombak today.

He said the party always seeks feedback from its division and state leaders before deciding on matters like membership applications.

The Malaysian Insight today reported sources as saying the PKR political bureau accepted the former Sabah Umno strongman’s membership application on October 18, and that the only thing pending is an official announcement on the matter.

Salleh’s membership could be made known as early as tomorrow, at the Sabah PKR congress in Kota Kinabalu, said the party insiders.

State PKR chairman Christina Liew last Friday said Salleh would be welcomed into the party should he forgo his “Umno principles”.

Salleh, who used to be a loyalist of former prime minister Najib Razak, in August applied online to join PKR.

The former communications and multimedia minister failed to retain his Kota Belud parliamentary seat in the general election in May last year, and quit Umno in December. – October 27, 2019.
