FIVE million middle-income folk have been identified as eligible for the Petrol Subsidy Programme (PSP) to take effect next year.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said so far, data on three million PSP recipients from the low-income group has been recorded.
He said his ministry will discuss with the Finance Ministry to work out a special mechanism to collect data from the five million M40 earners.
The Finance Ministry has allocated RM2.2 billion for PSP.
Saifuddin said registration for B40 recipients is still open, and that the sign-up period for the M40 group will be made known in due course. β Bernama, October 27, 2019.
