PUBLIC consultation sessions on the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) Bill will be held in four states to gather feedback from stakeholders.

They will be held in Sarawak, Penang, Johor and Sabah.

IPCMC Bill Special Select Committee chairman Ramkarpal Singh said the first session will be held in Bilik Seri Sarawak at the old Petra Jaya State Legislative Assembly Building in Kuching on Saturday.

The second session, on November 2, will be held in the operations room on Level 4 of the Penang Federal Building, followed by November 8 in the operations room at the Sultan Ismail Building in Kota Iskandar, and November 10 in the Kedah Room at the Sabah Federal Government Administrative Complex in Kota Kinabalu.

“The Special Select Committee invites organisations, registered associations and individuals to attend the public consultation sessions, to share their views on the IPCMC Bill,” Ramkarpal told a press conference in the Parliament building yesterday.

He said the sessions will be conducted from 10am to 1pm.

“The feedback-gathering process is important as the committee comes up with recommendations before it tables a report in the Dewan Rakyat on November 18.”
