Solution to cut out middlemen in next few months, says Daim

FORMER Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) chairman Daim Zainuddin is talking to local cooperatives in a bid to find the best solution to break the monopoly of middlemen in business, especially in the small industries.

He hoped to find a solution in the next couple of months.

  • Almost every business in the world uses middlemen. Someone has to provide logistics support in terms of transportation and storage/warehousing as well as retail. You are looking at farmers and fishermen selling direct to Joe Public? Ridiculous.
