DAP leader P. Ramasamy said he has no connections with a Tamil Nadu-based right-wing party which is allegedly trying to revive the Tamil Tigers movement.

“I know the political party but I have no connections with them. They contested in the Tamil Nadu polls and lost.

“I don’t know of their connection in Malaysia,” the Penang deputy chief minister II told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

He said he was also unaware of any link between the Tamil Nadu party Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) and political parties here.

“If the police have any evidence to state that, they should furnish them.”

He was also unaware if Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has branches in Malaysia.

When asked if he was aware of financial support for LTTE from Malaysia, Ramasamy again said the police should provide evidence of that and allow the courts to determine the truth.

Yesterday, Bukit Aman’s Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division (E8) principle assistant director Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said police may ban NTK’s chief coordinator Senthamilan Seeman from entering Malaysia if they can get evidence of his links to LTTE.

Seeman had also visited Malaysia a few times to meet politicians, Ayob said.

“It will depend on the investigation on the 12 detainees. We will have to see how deep is his (Seeman) role in promoting or channelling money to LTTE elements in Malaysia.

“If there is a reason, we will request Immigration to stop him from coming in,” Ayob said.

The Malaysian Insight reported earlier yesterday that NTK is the link for a group of Malaysians, including some prominent politicians, trying to keep the spirit of the Tamil Tigers alive.

At least one of the 12 men arrested on last week has close links with Seeman and NTK.

Among the seven detainees are two DAP elected representatives, Gadek assemblyman G. Saminathan, who is also a Malacca executive councillor, and Seremban Jaya assemblyman P. Gunasekaran.

Ramasamy also told reporters today that he has not been called in by the police for questioning over his links with LTTE.

“No, not yet, but I am ready. I don’t blame the police but there must be justice,” he said.

“If they have evidence, bring it to the court. Let the courts decide on that.” – October 14, 2019.
