UNLIKE previous race-based economic policies, Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) takes a more inclusive approach in addressing economic disparity, said Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

Speaking at the launch of the 10-year economic agenda today, Muhyiddin who said the holistic approach will see Malaysians of all ethnic groups grow more prosperous with the bridging of the economic gaps.

SPV2030 seeks to close disparities in income, geography and supply chain.

“This is what we are trying to achieve through SPV30,” he said.

“Although previous economic policies did show success, there were still weaknesses including leakages and difficulty achieving targets that could not be fully realised.

“I know many would ask about the position of the Bumiputeras in the SPV2030. The fundamental principle is clear – which is that no group will be left behind and everyone will be helped by the government.

“This includes the B40 group of which 70% are Bumiputera.”

Along with the Bumiputeras, the non-Bumiputeras are set to gain from the government’s various initiatives to close the economic gaps.

SPV2030 is a more comprehensive and holistic extension of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Vision 2020 in 1991.

The new vision will provide the guiding principles in the coming decade for Malaysia tto unlock its full economic potential and allow the people to lead a more prosperous life.  – October 5, 2019.

  • The previous vision was not inclusive. Why? Because of bumiputeralism! If this ism is still in SVP2030, ah...think carefully will it still be more inclusive?
